Reclaiming the Nairobi District Foursomes (NDF) title

Muthaiga Golf Club has reclaimed the Nairobi District Foursomes (NDF) title! After three years, the coveted trophy is back where it belongs, thanks to an outstanding performance by former captain Khushil Nathwani and Neer Chandaria. The formidable duo delivered a commanding 6-5 victory over Railway’s John Lejirmah and Edward Manywanda in an electrifying final on Sunday at Muthaiga Golf Club.

This triumph is particularly significant, as Muthaiga last lifted the NDF trophy in 2021. Nathwani and Chandaria showcased exceptional skill and teamwork throughout the tournament, navigating a challenging path to victory. Their confidence grew after a crucial quarterfinal win against Ebill Omollo and Lee Njoroge, setting them up for a hard-fought semifinal battle against Golf Park’s Sammy Mulama and Peter Macharia, where they emerged victorious.

Despite limited preparation, the Muthaiga pair proved that experience, strategy, and determination could overcome any obstacle. From the first tee, they set the pace, taking control of the match early and extending their lead with clinical precision. By the 13th hole, the title was sealed with five holes to spare—a testament to their dominance.

Speaking after the win, Nathwani expressed his pride in their achievement, dedicating the victory to their families and the Muthaiga Golf Club community. "It’s an incredible feeling to bring this trophy back home. The support from fellow members has been amazing, and we’re proud to represent Muthaiga at the highest level," he said.

Kenya Golf Union (KGU) Chairman David Ndungu applauded the high level of competition, emphasizing the tournament’s role in sharpening players for the national season. "The Nairobi District Foursomes is a breeding ground for champions, and Muthaiga has once again proven its strength in team golf," he noted.

With the NDF title back at Muthaiga, the club reaffirms its position as a powerhouse in Kenyan golf. This victory is not just a win—it’s a statement. Muthaiga is back, and the future looks brighter than ever.
